District Governor (2018-2019)
Born on 18thDec 1962 in an eminent & traditional business family of Jaipur, Neeraj displayed the attributes of leadership as students’ union president and sports by playing Lawn Tennis at national level early in life. Immediately after completion of his graduation from Panjab University, Chandigarh, his keen interest to serve nation drove him to join Indian Army. As an Army man, Neeraj has served in the Indian Army as commissioned officer in most inhospitable and hazardous terrains including “Siachen Glacier” in Himalayan ranges. As a commander of a technical sub unit he has been baptized with fire in one of the most active combat zones in Asian Subcontinent. During army service he was awarded four medals, participated as the team captain in national level firing competition and took part in the Himalayan Car Rally. After hanging the uniform, he chose to come back to his roots in Jaipur where he established a business venture related to automobiles and managed family business of real estate. He has been associated with the Rotary fraternity for the last 16 years actively participating in all the welfare activities in different capacities. In his home club, which is “Rotary Club Jaipur Central,” he has held all the possible appointments in the club management hierarchy & became president of club in the year 2010­11. At the district level he was assigned numerous appointments and the responsibility of publishing the district hand ­books . In 2012­13, he became the Assistant Governor & the leader of the last GSE Team which went to North Carolina (USA). He was the force behind not only getting three International Grants but also completing/perusing them as the Primary Contact. He is completely associated with & dedicated to the club’s ongoing social projects related to the improvement of Cremation Ground & School for the Blind children. An avis traveler, Neeraj has reached out to different civilizations across the Globe. He has addressed District Conference and a large no of Rotary Clubs in the USA, Australia, Europe,,Napal&Bhtan. He is MPHF(Level-II) and recipient of many Rotary awards, which include, RI-Avenue of Service Award, Rotary Foundation District Service, RI–Presidential Citation, Outstanding Assistant Governor, GSE Team Leader, Outstanding President, Outstanding Secretary etc. He is the only veteran from India who has been given honorary membership of US Rotary Veteran Association. He is also an active member of IGFR (International Golfing Fellowship of Rotary) Apart from Rotary, as a philanthropist, he has been associated with a number of social welfare activities, chairing his own family’s LDS Charitable Trust and many socio ­ religious and educational organizations. He resides in Jaipur with his wife Bindu, who is a talented and activeRotarian herself. She has contributed towards numerous social initiatives along with her husband in a commendable manner.
